Pastor Danny Kirk of of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist church in Texas was killed Monday after a man drove his car into the building and proceeded to attack him with a guitar. The secretary locked herself in an office and called 911. Police arrived while the crazed man was still beating the pastor. The assailant was zapped with a tazer and was later found dead, himself, in the back of the squad car.
The suspect has been identified as 33 year old, Derrick Birdow. A cousin of the Birdow says in the video below that he thinks that the man was on some drugs (bath salts?).
Congregation members gathered in sorrow outside the church to pray and mourn. Some were carried to the hospital by ambulance.
