They pranked the right people because there's no telling what I would do. Don't get me scared like that. I'd probably hurt that little girl in my frantic blind terror. Actually I'd probably crouch down on the floor with my eyes closed flailing my arms and legs. LOL don't play with me. I'm liable to go off!

Video: Unsuspecting People Locked in Elevator, Ghost Girl Appears Prank.
I laughed at most of these people but this is so wrong. In this prank, people are directed into an elevator that suddenly malfunctions before a ghost girl shows up in the elevator with them.

Inspirational Video: War Veteran Loses Weight and Walks (Runs!) Again
This video has been around for a while but I'm just seeing it now. Every once in a while, something like this comes along to inspire you to keep going and/or just make you all emotional inside.
I'll let the video tell the story, but I like when he says, "Just because I can't do it today, doesn't mean that I won't be able to do it someday." It just show that if you persevere when it looks like things aren't moving, you can still reach your goal with time and practice.

Peeves About Society's Unfortunate Attitude about Infidelity
Anyone who knows me (online or offline) is aware that one of my hot buttons is infidelity. My stance is that there is no excuse for cheating and those who do it and justify it have a personal flaw--and it's not the state of being a male. I think it bothers me so much because I can't imagine ever compromising my own integrity and character to do something like that to someone. My word is bond, man, and if I say that I'm going to be faithful and true to my husband, that's what I mean. I expect the same respect and devotion. With me, there is no TRY not to cheat. Faithfulness should be a given as part of the deal.
Last night after I listened to a blog radio show about Geeky Women, I sat through one about infidelity. The topic was Cheating: Why Are Women Sooo Forgiving? If interested, start at about the 13 minute mark. The first several minutes are off topic introductory type conversations.
One thing that really annoys me about infidelity discussions like this is that there is NEVER any talk about how to take proactive measures to avoid getting into compromising situations. Men, especially, just seem to act like they just fall on top of a woman who is not their wife. No, it takes steps to get to the point where you're in a bed (or backseat of a car, whatever) with a strange woman. It doesn't matter how many fine women are out here---she's not going to just drop her clothes on the spot and get down. It takes some planning to get from hello to headboard. I say that infidelity is a highway, not a sidestreet: There are many opportunities to exit.......

Video: Paralyzed Dogs Walk Again After Injected With Mucosal Cells
Researchers at Cambridge University may be on to something with advances in spinal cord injuries. They injected 23 paralyzed dogs who had lost function in their hind legs with their own olfactory cells that had been grown in the lab. As a result, many of these dogs regained their ability to walk.
The cells regenerated the nerve fibers in the damaged portion of the spinal cord, however, it does not appear that this repair would occur over long distances. Fixing functions like hand movement and bladder control will prove to be more complicated.
The video below is very encouraging. As you will see, Jasper the dog had no voluntary movement in his back legs and had to be held up with a sling as he walked the treadmill in the beginning. But after six months he was able to move all his legs and walk without help.
This may be hopeful news for people who have spinal cord injuries.

The Plight of the Nerdy Black Girl. No Love for the Geeky African American Women?
I was reading through the blog of one of my online friends and came across a BlogTalk Radio show she posted entitled "Can Geeky Girls Get Male Attention?" It's about an hour and a half long and I wanted to address some of the things discussed.
First of all, in my own mind "black" and "nerd" or "geek" don't really go together. When I was in high school, yeah there were a couple black students who were quiet, solitary and/or a little weird when they DID say something (myself included) but I wouldn't have described them as nerds or geeks. They just were on the outskirts of the black social cliques.
I think there's a missing term that fits somewhere in the same basket with "nerd," "geek," and "dork" because I've never thought of myself as any of the above. I was thought of as smart and quiet in school but I've never had any particular interests in computer motherboards, video games, Broadway musicals or anime.

Take Me to the Greens. Song About Holiday Dinner Bandits!
This is so funny. Most people entertain at LEAST one of these people every holiday dinner. They know where there's going to be good food and make the appropriate stops. They don't bring anything for Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings and don't even plan to stay and enjoy anyone's company for too long. Their main agenda is to get a plate (or plates, plural), say hello to a few people and roll out!
You'll recognize them walking out to their car soon after they came with a couple plates covered with aluminum foil!
I can't talk too much because I don't cook and if I knew where I could get some free awesome food, I'd probably do the same. And you know most families find this kind of comical.
Anyway, here's one woman's parody of Tamala Mann's "Take me to the King." Her song is called "Take Me to the Greens."

I Love This Group Fifth Harmony (Formerly 1432) on X Factor
I've been watching the X-Factor and I love this group. They came in as individual competitors but were put together as a group by the judges to compete on the show. Their group name was 1432 (meaning I Love You 2 (too) ) and Simon asked America to pick a new name for them which was revealed to be Fifth Harmony on last night's show.
Last night they sang a rendition of "A Thousand Years" from Twilight. Hopefully they will be safe tonight.
I like the passion they have and the love and support that is evident among the five girls. I think they could really fill a spot in the music industry. They remind me of the old girl group "All Saints." They have 'something' (The X Factor, perhaps?) that I can't totally put my finger on and I really think they can get somewhere.
